Betty Lou (Guge) Johnson, Captain, USAF, served from October 1951 to March 1955.  Recalling her career she notes, “At the time I was in the Women’s Medical Specialist Corps (WMSC) there were maybe 33 dietitians.  On several occasions I was sent to represent the WMSC at conventions- more or less a recruiting program.  It was a pleasant diversion.  It was my pleasure to work with Major Mary Lou Yancey and Captain Kathleen Creek and Captain Virginia Bounds.  I was stationed at Sheppard AFB, TX from 1951 to 1955.” – From 50 Years of Air Force Dietetics
